Summer is HERE!

Red Willow Arts Coalition (RWAC) is ready to kick off our 16th season of the FREE Summer Concert Series on the Courthouse Lawn. 14 Thursday nights of fun and music in Downtown Alexandria on the beautiful Douglas County Courthouse Lawn! The Thursday before Memorial Day Weekend (May 23) is when it all kicks off, and the Kat Blue Band from St. Cloud & Clearwater will get things started!

Since coming together in 2009, we have gradually grown in size and scope. We are so proud of the collection of friends and neighbors that gravitate to The Lawn each Thursday evening. Our board members have stories of stop-n-chats at stores and events all year round…”What a fun night! How are the concerts coming? Can’t wait for summer Thursdays!”.

Featured Bands

For 2024 we’ve answered requests for more country with bands such as the Mason Dixon Line, Canyon Cowboys (with a fabulous pedal steel guitar) and Blonde & The Bohunk, as well as adhering to our policy of multiple genres of music with Rock n Roll from the Holy Rocka Rollaz, White Sidewalls, 50’s / 60’s Rock & Roll Revue, and 70’s Magic Sunshine Band (who were rained out last season). We added a Special Patriotic Concert on July 4th a few years back, and this year it falls on a Thursday! Katy’s Swing Band will bring a full 18-piece big band to celebrate the Holiday with special honors to Veterans and current service members.

Additional Season Information

Season sponsor, Bethany on the Lake, brings a trailer each week with their senior residents, and we’re told there is always a waiting list. One of our fondest memories is 1000 people in the audience singing Happy Birthday to a man turning 104 years old!

Students from Miltona Science Magnet School will once again be selling popcorn and water, and on June 27 we again celebrate “June is Dairy Month” with Dairy Princesses and soft serve Ice Cream!

There is plentiful parking a short walk from the lawn, and if you arrive early enough you can listen from your car!

RWAC joins the Arts Collaborative in bringing together fans and friends of the MANY talented creatives who live and thrive in this area. RWAC is so honored to collaborate with the vibrant arts community in and around Alexandria! We look forward to another year of celebrating art, theater, and music appreciation in the Lakes Area!
