Red Willow Arts Coalition was formed in 2009 to promote the arts and provide entertainment events for the Lakes Area. Tom Anderson of Anderson Funeral Home shared fond memories of childhood family outings to the Courthouse lawn to attend concerts, and generously offered to sponsor our concerts. Elden’s Fresh Food came on board shortly after. Thanks to the Douglas County Commissioners, this tradition continues.
We partner with Bethany on the Lake who bring residents to concerts, Calvary Lutheran Church for access to parking and the playground, and the City of Alexandria for traffic control.
Members of Red Willow Arts Coalition Board are volunteers, and receive no financial compensation. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, which allows for larger, tax-deductible contributions.
The courthouse venue is ideal! Plentiful parking options are close by. Some attendees listen from their cars. The lawn is shady and level and very conducive to those with mobility concerns. Our concerts have become part of the fabric of Summer at The Lake, and we’re hoping that you’ll become a ‘Thursday Courthouse Regular.”
