News of the formation of The Arts Collaborative first appeared in the Echo Press on July 22, 2022. The group grew out of roundtable conversations among arts organizations to share ideas and resources with the goal to promote the arts in the Alexandria Lakes Area. With encouragement and support from Tara Bitzan, Executive Director of the Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, representatives of the organizations identified opportunities to work together to achieve the goal. With support from Christine Reilly, Executive Director of Andria Theater, The Arts Collaborative staffed a booth at Art in the Park on July 30 and 31 to introduce itself to the public. The success of the Art in the Park experience lead to the decision to seek grant funds for a website to showcase the arts in the Alexandria Lakes Area.
