Alexandria Area High School has introduced a new director this school year, Brooklynn Bruner. Brooklynn received her education in New York City and made her move to Minnesota in 2021. She’s performed in many local shows at The Andria Theatre including Big, The Play That Goes Wrong, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and 9 to 5! At the beginning of the summer of 2024, Brooklynn was hired to take on the theatre program at AAHS!

This fall, Brooklynn directed Into the Woods, which included 30+ students in the cast and crew, along with a live pit orchestra. The students took on the change of director with grace as Brooklynn’s goal has always been to maintain the extraordinary legacy of AAHS Theatre Department.

The program just wrapped up their One Act competition season with Marigold, “…a truly special experience for all involved as this was the first time in history that the show was performed in the United States. The students put on an incredible show and the program is looking forward to its spring show – something the high school hasn’t done in some years. Stay tuned as the students tackle comedy to finish off the 2024-2025 school year!”.
